Olive's Pitcher

This pitcher was a disappointment to me when it first came out of the kiln. I had modeled it on a photo of an Old English pitcher I'd seen in a book somewhere. The green glaze around the neck wasn't the apple green I'd been hoping for and it wasn't shiny -- more a matte olive drab. But that isn't how the pitcher got it's name.

Olive Bartlett of Tucson took such an immediate liking to the pot when she first saw it that I just handed it to her and said, "It's yours."

I must say I rather like the pitcher now. Hope you do too.

Status: in the collection of Olive Bartlett.
